Colin Hacking B.Rur.Sc (Hons) - Research Co-ordinator

Col started his ag career as a plant breeder/agronomist at Tamworth in northern NSW before moving to Geelong in Victoria. Here he lectured at Marcus Oldham in Plant Production & Computing for nearly 12 years. While progressing to Vice Principal and Acting Principal roles with the College, he also completed Graduate Diplomas in Education and Computing. For the next two years Colin took up a management role with the Department of Primary Industries as the District Manager of both the Colac and Geelong branches.

Due to Colin's desire to get back to the "grass roots" and work more closely with producers, he then took up the role of CEO of Southern Farming Systems for a period of 10 years. During this time Colin helped to build a very large and successful farmer based organisation across three States of Southern Australia. Following his time with SFS, Colin has worked as a consultant to several agricultural organisations and joined Agritech in 2010 to help establish a presence in the Western Districts of Victoria.

Colin enjoys golf, although plays it badly, fishing and flying model aircraft, although he spends more time building aircraft than flying, due to gravity winning over flying prowess.
